An Excursion in Western Oklahoma

Two weeks ago I had been mildly depressive all week. So on Friday, my day off, I decided that I needed to go walking. I started the morning in Stillwater at Michael's and decided to just pick a state park and head there. I went to Roman Nose State Park, never having been there before.

On the way I visited a fantastic Catholic church in Okeene.

When I got to Roman Nose I spent three hours walking. This is not spectacular land, but there were things of interest and it was a great way to spend the day stretching, relaxing, and breathing fresh air.

On the way home I stopped in Watonga and purchased some Watonga cheese which supplied part of that night's lovely little dinner with David and Jon.

I've decided to begin making a few excursions like this on my days off.

This is part of my Oklahoma Centennial year visits to places and events around Oklahoma. This week Mon, David, and I took a tour of the Governor's Mansion and walked around the capitol looking at some of the newer art and visited a joint session of the state legislature, briefly.
