Flashpoint Response

Well, I feel so much better after watching the show. I did better than I realized. I scored a number of points, and she came across as very rude. She interrupted me every single time I spoke, whereas I generally let her make her points, except when she said something outrageously false.

Scott,
I'm looking forward to seeing what took place this morning. Good for you for going face to face with Sally. What is so mind blowing for me is that if she were targeting any other group she could not get away with her prejudicial hate rhetoric.
You are awesome!

You did great kid! She did come off as a bully and you approached it like a pastor, coming off elegant and above the fray. I think with an issue like this, the public's minds aren't going to be changed based on the program because its not conducive to an actual debate, more a battle where each person is trying to force the other back into a defensive stance. She played the standard tricks that politicians and pundits do so she could get more airtime and soundbites, but her arguments weren't worth anything. If anything, you might get a bit more aggressive should another oppritunity present itself. Lean into the argument like your holding a shotgun. Just as Stephen Colbert says, its true because "it feels true."

Scott, you did a wonderful job. You looked good and sounded even better! You were eloquent, strong and unwavering, but without being defensive or aggresive.
You should be proud of yourself...I felt very proud for you!

Part of my goal was to come across as a kinder, more compassionate and gracious person than she. Which I think happened. Even strangers have been stopping me on the street to talk about how rude she was.
