Mega projects

The NYTimes writes about the lack of mega projects in the current economic stimulus and how the lack of these projects is a sign of now major, transformative economic growth.

One thing I found interesting was the discussion of expansion of public transit in Denver and Salt Lake.  These projects, which come in at under $5 billion, are not considered mega-projects.  What I found interesting was our current OKC debate of $700 million.  The lesson of this article would seem to be that a truly transformative development project would need to be something very different than what is currently being proposed.
