I texted a friend, "Finished Taylor's A Secular Age. All 776 page of it." He responded, "Hope the trip was worth it." "Some stretches," I said.
Moments of erudition, eloquence, and insight. But contained within long sections of analysis that feel too into the weeds, too repetitive, too much in need of a good editor.
